I had my second class on how to use my machine today and I'm very excited about everything that I learned. I can now properly hem pants with a blind stitch, apply a button, and even create my own decorative stitch. Some people would think, "Didn't you already know those things?" Well my old machine was a student version that did about 8-10 stitches. This new machine does more like 100 different stitches. And you can do combinations!
I have two favorites of the day - first the blind stitch because I've always wanted to know how to do that. My second favorite is a stitch that stitches two pieces of fabric together, side by side. I can't think of the name of it right now, but it's a good one for quilting, per the teachers.
Oh, and I also learned about how to use all of my presser feet, which I never knew before. And about some optional feet that I'm thinking I might get one day - like the walking foot, so cool!
The ladies at Sew Contempo are very helpful and really great teachers. I highly recommend the shop for both buying products because they search for the best quality (you do pay for it) and their great classes.
