My Craft Space

Okay this is so long overdue it's just sad. Chris helped me put together a craft area in what is supposed to be our breakfast nook. We never used the space, so I took it over for just me! He painted, put up new blinds, and of course we bought some storage solutions from IKEA. It's amazing how all of my stuff fit in the space. I had projects, papers, ideas, and so forth stored all over the house. When I piled it all onto the floor I thought "No way is this all going to fit." The only thing that is not stored in one of these cubbies is my batting, which is huge and hard to store anyway. At least it's only one thing in the linen closet, versus the whole linen closet.

Well, I've been using the space a lot since Christmas when he started putting in all up. I'm in the middle of making a hooter hider, a quilt, and embroidering a project for a friend and another for my nephew. It's so very nice to have space to spread out and create on. Which I must say is probably why my blog has been so neglected of late. I would much rather be in my craft area then stuck on the computer. However, I hope that I will be abel to balance both better moving forward.

Baskets

Okay these baskets are a bit harder to embroider than I originally thought. I've got a few orders for them, so I've gotta finish those off and no more orders for these.

CARS Movie Shirt

Our friend Lisa asked us to make a CARS shirt for her son Jack's birthday next weekend. Here's what we did.

Oh, and when I say we, it's because Cameron just had to help with this order.

Nana Sews

We've finally gotten Nana to create a blog that includes her fabulous nursing covers. I think she's got a real gem of a craft going and may even add some other fun items like Christmas stockings in the future. For now, check out her sewing creations at nanasews.blogspot.com,

New Monogram Options

So I ordered some new fonts especially for the ladies that have been ordering items for the holidays. Here's a sampling of those fonts.

Polka Dot

Butterfly

Daisy

Child

Curlz

Curly

French Script

Now the only problem I have to deduce is how exactly to get my machine to do the names like it shows in these pics. I do not currently have the software that I need on the computer to make a file with these, and other than having that file I don't know how you make it do a seamless name as shown. I guess I'll be researching that one now.

Sock Monkey Outfit

I had a request for a Sock Monkey outfit. Check out how what a cutie Andrew was in his onsie, with mom's additions from a costume.

I may have to make something similar for Maggie.

Pirate PJs

Cameron picked out this fabric and asked me to make him some Pirate PJs. He finally got to wear them for the first time last night and of course we had to add to the pic our eye patch and sword we keep handy. I had a good time making these, but was surprise at the difficulty in the top. I plan to make both the kids their Christmas PJs this year and will be looking for a simpler pattern for a top next time.
